Dorsa is an Iranian conceptual artist based in Berlin.
Collaging is her main technique used to express her concepts and visions.
She was born and raised in Iran, completed her further education in the UK in the engineering field. For a decade she explored the relationship between numbers, machines and human behaviour. None of which fully satisfied her soul and mission. The more she dug into the field, the more she craved human’s soul, psyche and connection; what machines are missing.
So after a decade, she started to explore the other end of the spectrum where she feels more at home.
“For me, collaging is a way of communicating/transmitting my soul’s journey to the physical world, using pieces that already exist; recycling and reusing unwanted pages and magazines. It’s kind of like engineering but in a soulful way.
Personally, the idea behind finding beauty in pain and power of the mind is what drives me to create and produce all of my art pieces – in fact, it’s my main point of inspiration.
I want to trigger the audiences’ mind – trigger in the sense that, I want to somehow encourage them to question their own thought processes (power of the mind) and push them to see the beauty of their own pain and not to be afraid of change.”
